It’s hard to find an hour in sports as good as the one we all watched last night during Game 6 of the World Series. Amazing drama with a myriad of story lines that gave us an evening to remember.

Much of the talk today will center around whether or not baseball can capitalize on this. In the short-term, it can and will. In the long-term, it’s harder to say and I lean towards “no.”

The ratings tonight for a game 7 in this series will be robust. Some will over-reach after seeing those ratings and tell you that baseball is “back” as America’s past time. I would love to agree with them. But I can’t. Ratings for Saturday and Sunday regular season games on Fox and TBS will continue to be average to below average.

I say it all the time, but the ADD culture we live in these days has people moving on to the next thing as quickly as possible. There isn’t a lot of lingering.
