Monthly Archives: November 2011

I will preface this by saying a couple of things…

1. I don’t have a vote for the Heisman.

2. I watched Andrew Luck play for the first time, in person, tonight.

Andrew Luck may or may not have had a chance to win the Heisman entering play on Saturday night against Notre Dame. If he did, he didn’t do anything to help or hurt his chances in my eyes.

The numbers will be what the numbers are, but Luck struggled in the 2nd half against an above average Notre Dame defense. The one thing missing from Luck’s 2011 campaign is that Heisman defining/shining moment. Combine that with the schedule he plays and I don’t think he’s going to win the Heisman over the handful of other guys who are in similar situations.

With that being said, it’s still going to be one of the tighter votes we’ve seen in quite some time and Luck still may be the best to come out out of this Heisman class. However, that means little in the popularity contest that’s loaded with politicking that would make politicos ill.
